There is something about St Cecilia Cathedral that immediately humbles you the second you walk through the doors.
The architecture, the stillness, the history, the way sunlight pours through the stained glass. Every single wedding ceremony there feels sacred in a way that is difficult to explain unless you’ve experienced it firsthand.
As an Omaha wedding photographer, St Cecilia Cathedral has become one of my favorite places to document wedding ceremonies because the emotion inside those walls feels incredibly genuine and deeply rooted in family tradition.

Some of my favorite images from wedding days aren’t even the portraits afterward. They’re the small moments that happen quietly during the ceremony itself: a groom trying not to cry as the doors open, a father squeezing his daughter’s hand before walking down the aisle, grandparents watching from the pews, candlelight flickering during vows.
As a mom myself, I think those moments hit me differently now. Wedding days move incredibly fast, and photographs become one of the only ways families get to hold onto those emotions years later.
Photography Tips for St Cecilia Weddings:
- Plan extra portrait time afterward
- Prioritize natural light windows
- Keep ceremony timing in mind
- Consider film photography for the cathedral aesthetic
- Allow moments to breathe naturally
